Igor was born in 1969 in the city of Tashkent. He started learning music at the age of 7. Igor got first interested in jazz when he was 9, even though he actually started playing jazz much later. He attended the Tashkent Conservatory of Music. In 1994, Igor moved to Israel, where he continued to experiment with jazz and composition. It was there that he met and played with musicians from Brazil, with whom collaboration was a good experience for future explorations in Latin jazz. However, it was only after he moved to Moscow that Igor finally created his own Brazilian jazz band.
